Across the power industry nearly 80% of current engineers will retire within the next 15 years, this alongside the demand for new skills in renewable power generation has led to a future skills shortage. To help tackle this strategic problem facing us the Engineering Academy has created the Engineering Proposition Team who develop and deliver E.ON’s strategy for tackling what is more commonly known as the “engineering skills gap” facing the UK.

We deliver this by working with local site employees and supporting their work with local education institutions and by working on national activities such as the Big Bang Fair.
This is a critical activity to safeguard the future of E.ON in the UK, as we rely on engineering skills at the heart of our business and even more so as we move into new Nuclear, Clean Coal and Renewable generation activities.
